Edgar Chevreuil Jimenez, better known as Edgar Chevrel, was born in San Diego, California, U.S. in July 3, 1992.
Everything began in 2008 when he got his first disposable camera and started to photograph his friends. A year later, in 2009, he started to study plastic arts, but he wasn’t good at drawing so instead of doing that and painting with a brush, he decided to draw with light. That moment was when he knew photography as it is: A beautiful art of drawing with light.
First he started shooting landscape photography and then he moved to photojournalism and conceptual photography.
In 2011 he officially started reading books about photography, lighting, technical aspects, color theories, art history, etc. to expand his knowledge in arts.
Nowadays, he lives in Tijuana, Mexico. He’s a communications student and a self- taught photographer. He does not consider himself as an artist because he doesn’t feel like one, but he loves art, specially photography because It’s the only way he feels he can express how he sees the world around him.
He keeps producing his personal projects but for now he’s working on fashion photography and male portraits as well as fashion videos.
He plans to get a master’s degree in photography or filmmaking to become a visual artist and have the opportunity to work in filmmaking or photography related jobs.
