“52 12″, like a new logo to celebrate 60 years of FRED PERRY. An icon and a brand with a unique British style.
In August 1952 FRED PERRY launched the eponymous sportswear collection. It became youth culture influenced by music, movies & fashion from across the Atlantic, appealing to teens emerging from the post-war drama.
Ever since, FRED PERRY collections and especially the polo-shirt gave style incentives. Imagine smart British youths in buttoned-up polos and a Harrington jacket.
A style that embraced Mods, Skinheads, Suedeheads, Brit Pop, Indie…
Think also Paul Weller and Amy Winehouse.
The anniversary will be launched in September 2012 with a new line totally inspired by the original 1952 FRED PERRY collection.
Time to celebrate with the original 1952 shirt being reproduced from archive illustrations. Available in four colors with a specially designed “52 12” positioned under the classic Laurel Wreath.
Between November & December 2012 the 60 most loyal & distinguished fans, like designers, musicians and sports people, will personalize and auction for charity a shirt with a birthday message.
Ageless among an international audience…
